As the Founder and Head Coach of Project Health & Fitness, Henry brings over 13 years of experience as a personal trainer and a deep passion for helping people build strength, confidence, and lifelong health. His journey began on the AFL field, but it’s grown into something bigger — a commitment to supporting others to live strong, active lives at every age.
From AFL to Fitness for Life
Henry’s fitness journey started with a simple goal: prepare his body for the physical demands of AFL. But once he began studying and working in gyms, he discovered a much bigger purpose.
“I quickly realised most people’s real challenge isn’t just training — it’s staying consistent. That’s what inspired me to build a career helping people create lasting change.”
Over the years, Henry has worked with a wide range of clients but has developed a particular passion for training mature-aged adults, helping them build strength, confidence, and a lifestyle they can enjoy for years to come.
His mantra is simple and powerful:
“It’s never too late to start exercising.”
Favourite Exercise: Romanian Deadlift
The Romanian Deadlift is Henry’s go-to movement. In today’s world of long hours spent sitting, hamstrings often become tight and weak — and this exercise directly targets that issue.
It’s a powerhouse movement that builds strength, improves flexibility, and helps reverse the effects of a sedentary lifestyle. For Henry, it’s not just about looking strong — it’s about moving well and staying capable for life.
Desert Island Gym Picks
If Henry could only take three pieces of equipment to a desert island, he knows exactly what he’d choose:
- Barbell with Plates – Nothing beats the basics for building total-body strength.
- Pull-Up Bar – Perfect for grip, core, and upper-body power.
- Suspension Trainer (TRX) – Lightweight, portable, and ideal for strength, stability, and mobility.
With these three, Henry says he would have everything needed to stay strong, mobile, and conditioned — anywhere, anytime.
Henry’s Advice for Beginners
“It’s never too late to start. Set SMART goals and begin with a baseline — how many push-ups you can do, how long you can hold a plank, or your first InBody scan. Tracking progress is key to staying motivated and seeing real change.”
Henry believes that real results aren’t built overnight — they’re earned through consistency, patience, and trust in the process. Start where you are, stay committed, and the transformation will follow.
